Improving your smile & dental health
The crown of your tooth is the part that is visible above the gumline. Occasionally, more of the tooth below the gum must be exposed to fill a cavity near the gumline or when a crown needs to be placed on a broken tooth. A crown lengthening procedure provides more tooth structure and helps prevent irritation to sensitive gums or aggravation of gum disease.
Gentle, pain-free gum disease treatment
As a board-certified periodontist, Dr. T. Merrell Williams is an expert in all types of periodontal (gum) surgery. During a crown lengthening procedure, Dr. Williams will administer local anesthesia (or IV sedation if you prefer) and gently recontour excess gum tissue to expose more of your natural tooth.
Personalized care at every visit
Dr. Williams believes the only way to deliver the best possible gum disease care is by really getting to know his patients. This board-certified periodontist always takes the time to discuss gum disease treatment options and answer all of your questions.
